CT ELIGIBILITY AS AN ESSENTIAL BUSINESS
The Governor of Connecticut recently issued an Executive Order, which requires all non-essential businesses to cease in-person operations. The Executive Order goes into effect on March 23, 2020 at 8 P.M. and ends on April 22, 2020. Other states have a similar order are an order in pending in state government.
The Executive Order, however, exempts certain essential businesses from the mandatory closure, including, but without limitation, the following:
- Companies that are involved in the research and development, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and supplying of pharmaceuticals; biotech therapies; medical devices, diagnostics and equipment; and other healthcare related supplies.
- Industries that support national security and the defense industry.
