MAMF Hosts Member Appreciation Night
MAMF Hosts Member Appreciation Night
The MAMF hosted its first annual MAMF Member Appreciation Night at Maggiano’s in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, April 26. This evening was widely attended by MAMF members and guests and began with a state of the MAMF address provided by MAMF President Bob Chabot.
This was followed by a scholarship presentation to Ron Naula, son of Eloy Naula, Epner Technology. The 2023 MAMF Educational Scholarship was named in honor of David Norwine. David was a very special part of the MAMF – a long-time member, Past President, volunteer, and trusted leader. David instilled curiosity and exploration in all parts of his life and in the lives of those around him. He ingrained love, laughter, and having great fun, while instilling belief in oneself and doing good in the world.
The 2023 MAMF David Norwine Scholarship was established to help further the educational goals of an individual that is part of the MAMF family and honor a man who was beloved by all. Ron was a unanimous choice to be the recipient of this scholarship as he represented all that David was. In attendance was David’s son Mark who spoke about his Dad and what education and the MAMF meant to him

MAMF President Bob Chabot, Mark Norwine, and MAMF Treasurer Marc Aleksinas
Also in attendance was Christian Richter, The Policy Group, who spoke about his work on behalf of NASF with the EPA and PFAS. Below are two articles detailing their work followed by a letter from the 31 members of Congress urging EPA to accelerate action on the metal finishing ELG rulemaking and scolding the agency for not acting on several other sectors. Christian has spoken to New York Senator Gillibrand’s staff over the past year, who was leading the charge to speed up the ELG by introducing new legislation with tighter deadlines. Her office was impressed by what the industry has done thus far even while we may disagree on how to address the details of regulation.
